Dungarvan Town.
Dungarvan is a harbour town located at the heart of County Waterford on the doorstep of the Comeragh Mountains with its breath-taking waterfall and country wide view of the sunny south east. Dungarvan has many pretty beaches nearby, as well as being adjacent to the World Heritage Copper Coast. Waterford greenway is a spectacular 46Km cycling and walking trail along an old railway line which takes you from stunning Dungarvan all the way to the Quays of Ireland oldest City, (Waterford).
One of the best ways to explore the Greenway is by bicycle which can be rented from numerous bike rental companies in Dungarvan. Some of the attractions on route are,
Dungarvan town with breath-taking views over the Dungarvan Bay on to the Ballyvoile tunnel.
Ballyvoile Tunnell is a 400 metre brick lined tunnel which is as fresh as the day it was constructed with amazing green growth at each entrance and dim lighting adding to the magic of this great experience.
Durrow Viaduct & Kilmacthomas Viaduct
There is a seven arch viaduct at Durrow and an eight arched viaduct at Kilmacthomas with old engineering marvels that will instantly impress.

Clonea Beach.
Clonea Strand is a long wide stretch of soft sandy beach ten minutes from Dungarvan town and is considered to be among the best beaches on Irelands South-East coast. People come here throughout the year for long walks, to fly kites, taking in the expansive views over the sea and the Comeragh Mountains In summer the clean sand enticing waves of Clonea Strand attract plenty of visitors, who come to sunbathe and play in the sands. Dungarvan Castle.
Dungarvan Castle is an Anglo-Norman fortification founded in 1185. It was built in a very strategic location at the mouth of the River Colligan. From here ships could be anchored and soldiers could command the narrow strip of land to the south of the Comeragh Mountains which linked East and West Waterford. The castle consists of polygonal shell keep with an enclosing curtain wall, a corner tower and a gate tower. The shell keep is the earliest structure, dating from the 12th century, Norman Invasion of Ireland.
